  • Transportation emissions increased by 4.8%, with York Region having the highest per capita transportation emissions in the GTHA.

Innovation in York

Markham and Vaughan joined Brampton in establishing their own green development standards and used common sustainability metrics to span the three municipalities. This cross-regional collaboration established consistent requirements for new developments. Richmond Hill, as part of the working group, is expected to adopt these metrics in 2023.
